In 1968, 20th Century Fox introduced audiences to the big-screen adaptation of Pierre Boulle’s PLANET OF THE APES, an instant blockbuster that spawned more than four decades of sequels, a live-action and animated TV series, and a big-budget reimagining from director Tim Burton, ultimately leading up to Fox’s epic resurrection with 2011’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and this summer’s DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, opening in theaters this July 11.
This June, Creature Features salutes the evolution of this durable franchise with an unprecedented multi-media group art gallery exhibit showcasing artists in the fields of film, television, fine art, comics, children’s book illustration and more, all paying homage to the APES universe.
