Shannon Shea, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana began his love of monsters when he saw KING KONG on television at the age of three. As a teenager, he went to work at the Vieux Carre Hair store, a Theatrical Make-Up and Mask store where he learned the basics of theater make-up and mask construction . At eighteen he was accepted and attended the prestigious California Institute of the Arts with a focus on Experimental Animation. Hired into the Motion Picture Industry before he graduated, Shannon went to work as a Special Effects Animatronics artist and designer. 23 years later, he still works in the industry but has diversified into different disciplines. He writes, paints, invents and makes short films that have been featured in Film Festivals throughout California. He has shown his paintings in Soho, New York, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Los Angeles. He lives in L.A. with his wife Tracy. Their daughter, Molly now attends the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studies conceptual art and installation.
