John B. Archibald has exhibited his work in galleries in New York, Kaua'i, Honolulu, Scottsdale, and San Diego. Over the past several years, he has become more involved with what he calls "Instinctual Pictures." "Instinctual," because he creates them by taking a blank canvas and putting paints on it, until he stops putting paints on it. Instinct. He is always fascinated by the images which appear, practically by themselves. He has even completed paintings which looked like pure abstracts when he was doing them, only to turn them on edge after they are finished, and discover images he had no idea were there all along. This is pure art, from the unconscious, from his inner being. From instinct.
